Where are we going?

Children are singing and dancing on "Munni badnam hui" and "Shiela ki jawani" just because they don't have any choice. Nobody makes movies and songs for them and also don't feel any social obligation towards them. I have to make a real conscious effort to find suitable songs for my daughter Suhani. However in practice, most of the parents may not have the understanding or time. Consequently, adult and filthy entertainment (sex and violence) keeps on going in front of small kids. As parents are also so busy in their life and also children don't have many similar aged kids to play with, keeping children in front of TV looks like a big shortcut which in the end may not work that well for kids.

In bollywood, it has become fashionable of sort to use explicit abuses and scenes. Almost all songs are loud dance songs. Soothing. peaceful or sad songs have disappeared. Even actresses are also singing "character dheela". Ram Gopal Varma uses explicit abuses on twitter. He makes a movie based on Neeraj Grover murder case which is one of the goriest murder stories in last few years. The murder accused Maria goes free and receives a movie offer by RGV and also a proposal to appear in next "Big Boss". It's quite surprising that for some girls, the ideal is Rakhi Sawant to gain the quick fame. Dolly Bindra brings very loud, abusive attitude in Big Boss and becomes a celebrity and charges hefty fee to appear in TV serials. So fame and quick money corresponds to how loud, violent and vulgar you are. Times of India as a newspaper had top 10 smooches of 2010 yesterday and today it had top 10 lovemaking scenes in this year.

People have lost the sensitivity Indians were known for. One of my colleagues dies in a car accident and surprisingly workplace looks exactly same next week.

If you dont drink you will feel coming from just another world . Drinking among Indian girls is "hap" thing today. Almost all TV serials are based on the domestic violence and infidelity. Comedy serials are just filthy vulgar and double-meaning satires in which only judges laugh.

TV news is just focused on sensational stories. The same news which was of 20 min duration, 20 years ago has got elongated to 24 hours because of all these news channels. News is replaced with bollywood gossips and TV reality serials.

One lady is repeatedly raped just a KM away from my residence in DDA Sports complex. Many girls have been gang-raped by auto-drivers or abducted straight from open roads. Inflation has made such in-roads that things have become just doubly costly and a common man can just see it happening. Depression has become very common among city dwellers where social contact has become rarity.

Earlier people used to think why a relative came to their house as it was quite regular affair. Now people beg those same relatives to visit them as they feel all alone in this big city.

So at the expense of such an economic boom the question is - where are we going?

It's just business

Chandan: Hey. how are you?

J. Raja: I'm good. how have you been?

Chandan: jo suna hai sach hai kya?

J. Raja: ??

Chandan: u joined Future Constructions

J. Raja: yep ..

Chandan: nice

J. Raja: doesn't mean you should stop talk to me .. ;-)

Chandan: just...wondering ki kispe bharosa karoon kispe nahin

J. Raja: oh cmon, i joined them in June .. and had no such plans back in Jan/Feb

Chandan: what about ur those talks...about what people already thought about when u resigned...

I have no problems in your joining with any company...but it looks like I misjudge sometimes :-)

J. Raja: Which talks are you referring to? :-) I don't think I have been contradictory and there are 3-4 things going on and my association with Future Constructions is one of them

Chandan: People already told that u will join them...and me only trust on what u said

J. Raja: At that time, I had no plans on "joining" here. I served out my notice period with sincerity in my work. I didn't "join" Future Constructions to get back at Lakshman Associates.

My association with Future Constructions is more complex than you think.

Chandan: Raja...it has nothing to do about ur intention...I don’t care about good or bad intentions. It was just my trust...thats it.

Trust on what u said...at the time when you were in problems

J. Raja: I can understand where you're coming from. I hope your perception of me can change although I can't force that to happen. :-)

like the quote from The Godfather "It's just business" .. hehe

nice talking to you..am off to Kashmir tomorrow on my vacations .. cant wait!

Chandan: Ok. take care and good luck!

J. Raja: thanks..

Some Important Fundas of Life

Vivek: Jab se Dubai main aaya hoon, tension nahi hai.

Me: Umra ke saath samajh badhti hai :P

Vivek: No its not so simple..In old age people are in more tension

But then I thought enough is enough and no more tension. So I made a decision that no one can hurt me anymore and i will not be sad whatever the case be. So I am happy since then J

Me: sahi hai beta...bada guru mantra seekh liya hai...

kuchch mujhe bhi sikha de

Vivek: Duniya bahut karab hai yaar, people are not happy to see your happy face

Me: Duniya aisi hi thi dost shuru se

Tere ko galat family hai

Vivek: They will sympathize you when you r in trouble and drive a sadistic sort of pleasure out of it.

Me: As I said...it was already there before too

Vivek: Yeah, but it took some time for me to realize that

I can understand what you mean as you saw all in front of your eyes

You were able to judge people well in advance but i am not

Me: Not only that...if u see past movies for instance the role of Gurudutt’s brothers in Pyasa.

U will see those instance 60-70 years back too

So to me duniya doesn’t change

Though we interpret it to be changing

For me Mahabharata is still the default truth.

In everyday life u can see that

In today’s world...one has to become Krishna

Ram bans rahne se hamesha kaam nahin chalta

Vivek: Yes, you are right, it is all there in same ratio

But you see I never judge anybody’s background, caste, religion etc. If you are good to me I will be good to you too. That was my thinking.

Me: Continue…

Vivek: But later i see it does matter

In L&T Chennai I saw, they always gave preference to Tamilians even if the guy is a poor performer.

So much nepotism and favoritism

Here in Dubai I found Keralaite have similar culture

They make a wall around themselves and behave with non-Keralite as if we don't belong to them

Even if you ask them are u from India, his response will be no i am from Kerala

So it looked strange in the beginning but later I realized the whole world is like that.

From there side still I feel it may be their thinking but I will not change myself but will be more cautious on case to case basis.

Me: For me there are some fundamental rules...

Vivek: What are those rules?

Me: I don’t change my fitrat just because world is changing

Vivek: Go ahead..

Me: People say many a times that because world is changing u should also change...

But to me that doesn’t work

Vivek: To me also..

That is why i said i will not change myself..!!

Me: For instance, sometimes some say those guys didn’t help u why u want to help them

Me: For me it’s simple...they did what they thought right and I am doing what it seem to me right

Another rule is -

Patra and Kupatra

U share your knowledge or help those people whom u feel are Patra of ur help

Otherwise some people will complain ki why are u interfering in their life

Vivek: Okay

yaah..They may think that way

Me: Also if u help kupatra who doesn’t respect ur help and ur good thinking, or doesn’t respond with some actions

It’s again a waste

Vivek: Agreed!!!

Me: Today’s life...is full of instances where you feel ur situation as of Arjuna in Mahabharata

There may be relatives, friends and near and dears

Who take wrong direction...

If that happens, u have to take hard decisions of life

Vivek: I did not get this point..

Me: The point is - Moh in real life will make u weak

Either u be weak or be on the side of Dharma always

Vivek: Yes , you have to play the role of Arjuna

Me: But it's easy to talk about being Arjuna, but very difficult to be Arjuna in real life

Vivek: For Arjuna also it was not easy

The whole Gita got written just to convince him

Me: But yet again it’s very important to be Krishna and that should answer all ur questions

Vivek: Agreed

Other rule pl..

Me: Last rule is Sthitpragya Darshan

Vivek: Explain pl

Me: Take a look at http://vashishthask.blogspot.com/2005/05/sthitpragya-darshan-my-experience.html

Vivek: I am reading it now

New Year 2011

Me: new year is every day!

Me: reply to your profile message (Why are we celebrating new year??... Because one more year over from our life? Isnt it time to look back and see where you are?) :P

Srini: then y u r celebrating this particular day?

Me: people love celebrations...thats the only cause

Srini: celebration shud be when u earned something - materialistic or non

but u wont njoy such celbs

Me: u dont need a reason for celebrations

Srini: celebration with a cause is gud

Me: why shouldnt one find and get oppurtunity to be happy

there need not to be any reasons...

isnt it?

India is a country where u find too many occations for celebrations

and most of them are just because of our culture ;)

Srini: a real happiness comes after an achievement

Me: in the world of so many disappointments, pains and worry where real happiness is rare...people have good reasons...to not to have any reason

for instance if I distribute sweet...I dont need to have any reasons

Me: sometimes u do that too
